Oil Cleansing with Plaine Products Beauty Oil

Have you ever washed your face with oil?  I had never considered this until I learned of the benefits associated with it.  Oil cleansing can help reduce the amount of sebum (the naturally occurring oil on your face) being produced, remove makeup, and even clean out clogged pores.  Oil cleansing does not strip natural oils, leading to more nourished skin.  


This method of cleansing can be used on any skin type, from dry to oily.  Adding oil to already oily skin may seem counterproductive, but it actually can help dissolve any overproduction of oil.  Or better known as “like dissolving like!”  Using harsh face washes can harm the protective layer of skin allowing harmful bacteria to live on your skin.  Oil cleansing reduces this risk and helps your skin balance out its natural oil production.


Oil cleansing can be done once daily.  All you have to do is take a small amount of oil, enough to coat the skin but not so much where it will be dripping, then massage into your skin for 1-2 minutes.  Once you’re done, take a damp, very warm washcloth and press and hold the cloth on your face for at least 30 seconds. Then, gently wipe away any dirt, makeup, and excess oil.  It should be nourishing enough where you don’t even need to follow up with an extra moisturizer after!
