Plaine Products not only offers an alternative to single use plastic bottles, we also offer Plastic-Free shipping. There’s three key steps we took to make that happen and we want to share our work with you!

EcoFriendly Packaging

We chose to work with EcoEnclose, their boxes are made from a mix of 95% post-consumer waste and 5% post-industrial waste. Absolutely NO new materials are used in the manufacturing of their green shipping cartons. Best of all, EcoEnclose worked with us to develop boxes that will stand up to shipping refills and returning empty bottles to be refilled and reused. Some of our boxes are able to make several trips before we recycle them.

Plastic-Free Tape

Did you know there’s an alternative to plastic packing tape?  Water activated tape is made of paper, a natural, renewable product. The adhesive is natural as well. That means this tape can be recycled and re-pulped along with the boxes it is adhered to, as opposed to having to pull all of the plastic tape off before you recycle the box. It does require wetting the tape before use. We purchased this used machine for the warehouse, another re-use win!

Even better, paper tape does a superior job. The adhesive bonds to boxes, especially if the box is under-filled. Not only does it decrease problems with shipping, it also makes it harder for unauthorized hands to slip into boxes and pull out products!

Better Design Makes Plastic-Free Shipping Possible

We worked with Eco Enclose to design our boxes so no fill is required for our 16 oz bottles. Instead of plastic bags or peanuts, our boxes are deigned specifically to fit our bottles! Our travel size are packaged with paper.

Shipping Plastic-Free isn’t necessarily harder, but it does take time and thought. We appreciate all of the requests we get from customers ensuring their package comes Plastic-Free. The more Plastic-Free shipping is requested, the more other companies will prioritize sustainability in shipping as well as packaging.
