Did you know? Despite comprising less than 5% of the world's population, Indigenous peoples protect 80% of our global biodiversity? 🌱 That’s why the #LandBack movement is so important, and today we’re celebrating a recent win for Native tribes in Montana!
In the 1900s, the U.S. Government took over 18,000 acres of land without the consent of the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes. This resulted in the loss of tribal homelands and the depletion of the sacred bison herds.
In 2020, Congress passed a law that would transition the land back to native tribes. Interior Secretary Deb Haaland said this land restoration was made possible by: Native peoples’ resilience, conservation guided by Indigenous knowledge, and the Biden administration's commitment to honor treaty obligations.

Beep, beep! Its #GoodNewsMonday 🛵 Taiwan-based tech company @gogoro_taiwan is on a mission to electrify the millions of two-wheelers around the world!
Over 50% of all commute miles driven every day are done by two-wheelers like motorcycles and scooters, and many of them run on gas. But @gogoro_taiwan is changing that by providing swappable batteries to encourage more drivers to go electric.
Drivers can swap their dead battery for a fully charged one from a battery "bank" located around the city, and @gogoro_taiwan recharges it for the next driver.
They’ve successfully launched in Taiwan and are planning to expand to other cities, to 4-wheel vehicles, and beyond!

Scientists have recently discovered that a wildflower they thought was extinct is actually alive and well!
Extensive deforestation in western Ecuador meant that scientists believed many plants went extinct, including the “Gasteranthus extinctus.”
But a group of researchers were able to observe this flower growing in the wild in the Centinela region of Ecuador, almost 40 years after its last sighting.
Just goes to show that nature can heal if we allow it the time and space it needs 💙🌎
