We are not having a Black Friday sale this year. This year, we are celebrating Give Back Friday. We are shifting the focus of Black Friday from just buying things to giving back to those in need.
As you may know, the very idea for Plaine Products was born in the Bahamas. Our CEO Lindsey spent a decade living and working there. On the beaches, in the waterways and on the road she began to see single-use plastic. This inspired her to start reducing plastic in her own life. Eventually she launched Plaine Products with her sister to help others do the same.
The destruction from Hurricane Dorian on her former home island earlier this year was heartbreaking. So this year, instead of a Black Friday sale, we are donating 10% of proceeds from every purchase made from Black Friday through Giving Tuesday to a nonprofit in the Bahamas – Friends of the Environment.

Friends of the Environment exists to preserve the environment of Abaco, The Bahamas through education, conservation, and research facilitation. Their education efforts include cleanups, plastic pollution education and support of the 2020 Ban on Single-Use Plastic in The Bahamas.
FRIENDS is now also focused on safe and sustainable recovery and rebuilding efforts on the island of Abaco.

Plaine Products Gives Back Year Round
Beyond the holiday shopping season, Plaine Products supports ongoing charitable giving by partnering with non-profit organizations with similar missions to ours. Additionally, we’re members of 1% For The Planet. That membership means we donate at least one percentage of our annual sales to support to non-profit groups with an environmental focus. In 2019 those groups were 5 Gyres, Plastic Ocean Project and the Straws Film Educational Project. All of these groups support our mission to eliminate single-use plastics.
